From a security standpoint, speed gates lead patrons or users to enter single-file, so reception, administration or security personnel (or indeed CCTV cameras) have a clear view and count of each person intending to pass through.
Security speed gates can offer a line of protection to a secure area, yet at waist height they can be as discreet as you need them to be.
